If you have kids, check out our easy summer lunches for kids! Ideal for at home, but also perfect for packing up and taking with you on long summer days!

Aside from the ridiculous amount of snack requests I get over the summer holidays as the kids are out of school for six weeks, lunch needs to be catered for too!
As much as I love taking a break from the routine of packing snacks and box lunches, it means I have to come up with a six-week kids’ lunch that can either be eaten at home or packed ready to take away when on the go and on-demand a day trip.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with a good old cheddar cheese or ham sandwich and I am sure many kids would love to eat this day in and day out!
But I wanted to put together some really easy, non-sandwich lunch ideas that you can take with you on the go to get us through the summer months!

Easy summer lunches for kids
Pizza Pasta Salad
If you want a picnic lunch on a day out during the summer holidays, this is a great family lunch!
You can make this easy lunch in just 15 minutes, pack it in bento boxes, and you’re ready to go.
This also makes a great side dish for a BBQ or as an easy dinner idea on a hot summer evening.

Broccoli Cheese Frittata Fingers
These frittata fingers are one of our favorite healthy lunch ideas! They are tasty but mild and soft enough for younger children or toddlers to enjoy.
And if you don’t want to use broccoli, you can always replace it with any other fresh vegetable you like.
They’re also a great way to use up leftover veggies from dinner the night before!

Ham and Cheese Roll Ups
With just a handful of simple ingredients like pizza sauce, shredded cheese, ham, and store-bought pastries, you can make cheese and ham pastry rolls or roll-ups that are great for little hands and hungry teens alike!
Great to pack in a lunch box to eat cold or enjoy as a delicious tea at home.
They’re so easy to make, you can even get your kids involved in making them.
And if your kids aren’t ham fans, you can always try these Veggie Pizza Roll Ups as alternative.

Sausage and tomato skewers
Kids love all things skewers and these sausage and cherry tomato skewers make a great lunch to pop in the lunch box.
Depending on your children’s tastes, you can even add a few cubes of cheese to the skewers or replace the sausages with other types of sausage.
Add some chopped fruits and veggies and some chips for an easy and delicious grab-and-go lunch.

Spinach Cheese Lunchbox Muffins
Savory muffins are always a great idea for lunch, especially when you want something filling.
We have many delicious savory and sweet muffin recipes on the blog, but these spinach and cheese recipes are one of our favorite recipes!
Packed with cheesy deliciousness, I think they’re the ultimate feel-good food to grab and go anytime!

Tortilla sausage rolls
Who doesn’t love a sausage roll? Over the years we’ve made these hidden veggie sausage rolls, these super easy Cheat’s sausage rolls, and we’ve even made a recipe for some healthier sausage rolls!
But these tortilla sausage rolls are great to make with the kids and only contain four ingredients.
Much better than store bought and the perfect addition to your picnic lunch!
I made them in the Airfryer, but there are also instructions for cooking them in the oven.

Airfryer Chicken and Cheese Pinwheels
Kids love cheese but can’t bear to pack more cheese sandwiches in their lunch box or picnic? Then try these Airfryer Chicken & Cheese Windwheels.
They’re also a great way to get your kids to eat chicken if it’s something they don’t normally enjoy.
With only four ingredients and with the Airfryer, they are prepared super quickly and are ideal for a quick lunch at home or to take away.

Salmon, cream cheese and spinach pinwheels
If you’re looking for quick lunch ideas, these salmon, cream cheese and pinwheels dishes are literally a matter of minutes to prepare!
They’re also a great option to try if you want to get your kids trying new flavors.
If your kids have never eaten salmon, start with small pieces of salmon first. Serve them with some cucumber and snow peas for a super easy and healthy summer lunch!

Pizza lunch box, savory muffins
The best part about this recipe is that it literally combines two things that kids love! Pizza AND muffins!
These lunch box muffins are so easy to make, just mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and then bake in a muffin tin in the oven.
I even have an easy way to fill the muffin cases: use an ice cream scoop. It makes the whole process so much easier.

Vegetable Rice Salad
With a packet of microwaved rice and some chopped veggies like bell peppers, cucumbers, and carrots, you can make this filling and delicious lunch meal for your kids that’s ready to serve in just 7 minutes!
It also works well packaged to take with you on the go for something else!
