A lot of people only do this at dinner, but I plan all my meals! It makes it easier that most of my breakfasts are a smoothie. But preparing ahead of time can make something as simple as a smoothie a lot easier! Today’s smoothie is a delicious apple, ginger, and greens smoothie that’ll help you get some essential greens for vitamins and minerals, and it’s also high in protein to help keep you feeling full.

Ingredients

  • Kale: While raw kale can be slightly bitter, the fruit and ginger hide it well in this smoothie, giving you all the fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and iron.
  • Apple: I like to use a Granny Smith to stay true to the “green” theme of this smoothie, but feel free to use a Fuji or Gala apple if you don’t like it so tart.
  • Celery: Basically tasteless, but full of vitamins and nutrients.
  • Banana: Bananas are my favorite way to naturally sweeten a smoothie.
  • Parsely: Not only is it rich in vitamins and nutrients, but it’s also naturally detoxifying, giving it a subtle grassy, ​​peppery note that pairs well with the sweet apple and spicy ginger.
  • lemon juice: Gives the smoothie some brightness and acidity.
  • ginger root: Ginger has a slightly spicy, peppery and sweet taste and is good for the digestive tract and the immune system.
  • Protein powder: Whether it’s plant-based or whey-based, the addition of protein powder is the secret to keeping you feeling full until lunchtime after drinking this smoothie.

How to make an Apple Ginger Green Smoothie

Put the apples and bananas in the blender

Start your apple ginger green smoothie by adding your banana and green apples to your blender.

Put celery in blender

Next add the chopped celery.

Add parsley to the smoothie

Next, add the first leafy greens and a bunch of parsley.

Add lemon juice to the smoothie
