Food Bites Friday: Columbus Arts Fest this weekend, Chung Chun Rice Dog, Bincho Boys pop-up is coming

There’s always a lot going on in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest:

  • The Columbus Arts Festival is this weekend! Yours truly will be down there all weekend; I work for GCAC and am the Social Media Coordinator for the Festival (if you want to keep up with me this weekend, check out @columbusartsfest on Instagram). In addition to artists, demonstrations, music, children’s activities, mural painting, there is plenty of food and drink! You will find nearly 40 food vendors spread between both sides of the river. This year, High Bank Distillery is supplying the spirits for slushies (root beer + whiskey, yes please!) and Rhinegeist brewed a special hoppy wheat beer called Sketch just for us.
  • Chef Bincho Boys’ pop-up returns this Sunday, June 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Speck Italian Eatery.
  • A Chung Chun Rice Hot Dog location is coming to the Polaris Fashion Place food court.
  • Linworth’s Hungarian Butcher, which is temporarily closed after a fire, has launched a GoFundMe to help them recover from the damage. You can contribute here.
  • The first of two Columbus Summer Wine Festival events takes place this Saturday, June 10th from 2-7pm at McFerson Commons in the Arena District.
  • Charmy’s Persian Taste offers a Persian buffet from noon to 3pm in downtown Hills Market.
  • Wolf’s Ridge Brewing announced a new rotating dinner series at the Hickory Room event space. The first arrives on June 22 and features an eight-course meal inspired by Asian street food.
  • Business First reported this week that the Zoup! The location at 1543 Lennox Town Ln., next to Lennox Town Center, has closed.
  • Remember, these are the last few weeks to visit the 94th Aero Squadron! The longtime restaurant near John Glenn International Airport will close after June 18.
