Our Cooking Club is a fun way for readers to celebrate the love and lemon community. The idea is simple—each month I choose a recipe. You make it, and you email me a picture. At the end of the month, I randomly select a winner to receive a prize.

I love the sense of community that comes from so many people cooking a recipe each month. We’re kicking off our June challenge today with our new chickpea salad recipe, and I hope you’ll join in on the fun. Here’s how it works:

Join the Love and Lemon Cooking Club

  1. Each month, I choose a seasonal recipe. Sign up for our email list so you’ll be notified as soon as I share a recipe each month.
  2. Make that recipe in a month.
  3. Send a photo of it to [email protected] by the end of the month. This year’s deadline is June 30!
  4. For a bonus entry, leave a comment (Include your first and last name) After you submit your photo to the challenge recipe blog post.
  5. For another bonus entry, post your photo on Instagram, tag @loveandlemons and #Love and Lemoncooking Club.

Prize: A $200 Whole Foods Gift Card!

At the end of the month, I’ll randomly select a winner and post all the photos. This time, we’re giving it away $200 Whole Foods Gift Card.


Chickpea salad recipe on three separate plates


This new chickpea salad recipe is shrimpy, bright and fresh, full of colorful vegetables and greens. Here are a few (many!!) things I like about it:

  • You can forward it. Store it in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • It can pass as a side dish or a veggie main. Bring it to a summer cookout, or pack it for lunch.
  • It is vegetarian and gluten-free. No coordination required for Cooking Club!
  • It contains pickled onions. Who else is obsessed?!

Last month’s recipe

Last month’s recipe was my Pasta Primavera, which was a huge hit!

  • Brenda calls it her “favorite of all the cooking club recipes so far.”
  • And Susan said it “made our taste buds dance!”

Many of you have shared that you enjoy this pasta at room temperature instead of hot from the oven. It was so fun to hear that you liked it both ways!
