This delicious and unique white wine sangria is made with fresh pineapple, strawberries and homemade rose simple syrup. The result: a totally satisfying and bright sangria that tastes like summer.

I’m on a cocktail kick and loving it! Creating my own cocktail recipes has been so fun and refreshing. Every party, event or long stressful day deserves a fancy drink. Plan ahead and make this pineapple sangria a day in advance for the best flavor. Individual flavors from ripe pineapple, strawberry and rose syrup will pop, making this the best white wine sangria you’ll ever taste.

I had so much fun creating my holiday drink series that I decided to extend it to Valentine’s Day and beyond. Now that summer is almost here, it’s a great time to start making those refreshing drinks you’ll want to drink all season long! These are some of my favorite non-alcoholic drinks that are great for warm weather:

Traditional Spanish red wine sangria is made with apples, oranges, orange juice or soda, or other citrus fruits such as limes and lemons, peaches, and apples. Berry and other fruit juices are sometimes added, and perhaps some extra sugar for sweetness. Traditional sangria is great for fall, so I tweaked it a bit to make it the perfect spring and summer drink.

The best white wine for sangria

I use an inexpensive pinot grigio for this white sangria recipe, but feel free to use your favorite dry white wine like sauvignon blanc, a bubbly champagne, or even a dry rose. I like a crisp white wine that packs a punch and balances out the sweetness of the fruit and syrup.

Can you make a non-alcoholic sangria?

Try a zero-proof pinot grigio. Or you can substitute ginger ale, San Pellegrino, club soda, or other sparkling water for the wine. Brandy is also used in this recipe, but omit or replace with something like cherry juice. This refreshing, fruity, floral drink really comes together using ingredients like fresh pineapple and strawberries. If you can pick strawberries from the garden, even better! My secret ingredient is rose syrup.

How to Make White Wine Sangria

First step: Cut half of a pineapple into small pieces. Use the core as well; Or store it with pineapple skin to make a refreshing and healthy pineapple skin tea. Chop two cups of strawberries and add all the fruit to a large pitcher.

Step Two: To the fruit, add 1/2 cup brandy (Myrtle’s Cognac) and 1/2 cup rose syrup. If you plan to drink this sangria immediately, mix the fruit with liquid, but leave some of the fruit whole.

Step Three: Pour two 750ml bottles of Pinot Grigio into decanters and stir gently. Refrigerate overnight, or at least an hour for all the flavors to meld; The fruit will be infused into the drink to be oh-so-refreshing for a hot summer day!

Step Four: Pour into your favorite glasses, garnish with a piece of fruit, and pair with your favorite savory dish like this creamy pasta with vegan scallops. Serve sangria over ice or not. I usually don’t because it can water down the sangria.

Pineapple Rose White Wine Sangria

Refreshing and delicious white wine sangria made with fresh pineapple and strawberries and a homemade rose syrup. Sangria fruit tastes like summer!

material

  • 1/2 Ripe pineapple Cut into small pieces
  • 2 the cup Fresh strawberries Cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 the cup Brandy I use myrtle
  • 1/2 the cup Rose simple syrup Recipe is here
  • 2 750 ml Bottle of Pinot Grigio or other dry white or rose wines

instructions

  • Add the fresh fruit to a tall pitcher then pour the brandy and simple syrup over it. Stir gently.

  • Pour into 2 bottles of wine, and stir well.

  • Let the sangria sit overnight for best flavor or at least an hour.

Want to drink now?

The best sangria has a chance to sit overnight so the flavors can blend and balance. If you don’t have time, and need to drink it right away (or within an hour), dilute the fresh fruit with brandy and simple syrup before adding the white wine. Enjoy it now, or let it cool for an hour before serving.

Non-alcoholic version

Use a non-alcoholic wine instead of the usual pinot grigio. Or replace the wine with sparkling water, or ginger ale (will be sweeter).
