Recipe: Fettucine Alfredo
Homemade Alfredo Sauce isn’t as complicated as it seems! Try this recipe!
Ingredients
- 1 Lb. Fettucine pasta
- 2 Chicken breast, sliced
- 4 tablespoon butter
- 6 tablespoon Flour
- 3 cups milk
- 1/4 Cup parmesan cheese
- 1 Cup frozen peas
- 2 sweet potatoes

In a medium saucepan, cook the fettucine pasta as directed on the packet. drain.

Prepare homemade white sauce in the pan. Melt butter and stir in flour until a paste forms. Stir in the milk and beat vigorously until the paste dissolves in the milk. Beat for 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce begins to thicken. Add 1/4 – 1/2 cup parmesan cheese and beat until melted in the sauce. Add 1 tablespoon milk at a time for a thinner sauce or 1 tablespoon flour for a thicker sauce. Once sauce has thickened, add chicken pieces and cook, covered, for 8-10 minutes, or until chicken is no longer pink. Stir frequently.

Cook frozen peas according to package directions.

Add the cooked fettucini and peas to the pan with the chicken and white sauce. stir.

Slit or deflate sweet potatoes. Place sweet potatoes in a casserole dish with 1 inch of water and cover with foil. Bake sweet potatoes at 350 for 1 hour. Take out and let cool for about 10 minutes. Peel the skins off the sweet potatoes and puree.

Serve fettucine alfredo with mashed sweet potatoes.
