Caramelized Onion Hummus

If you love hummus and want to add a new twist to your favorite dip, you must try this Caramelized Onion Hummus. This tasty and delicious dip is easy to make, has a delicious flavor and can be served with a variety of snacks including pita chips, homemade crackers and fresh vegetables.

The dip is really easy to make. You just need to cook some onions until they caramelize. Then you just throw everything together in your blender (or food processor) (save a few caramelized onions because we’re adding them later for garnish) and blend until smooth. And your hummus is ready – perfect for dipping, on bread slices, sandwiches or wraps.

Caramelized Onion Hummus is perfect for entertaining, as it can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for several days.

So the next time you’re in the mood for something new and tasty, try making this Caramelized Onion Hummus. Your taste buds will thank you!

A note on Blender: In my opinion, the blender is the best way to make the creamiest hummus. It will also be easier to make small amounts of hummus if you use a blender in a small bowl. I actually bought a small compact blender (like a Nutribullet or Ninja) just for this reason to make dips and sauces and love it! I cannot recommend it enough.

Health Advice: Legumes (chickpeas) and grains (bread; preferably whole wheat) are a great combo. They are complementary proteins because when you combine them you get all the essential amino acids.
