Strawberry Fluff Fruit Dip [+ Video] – Oh sweet basil

The Strawberry Fluff Fruit Dip is one of the first recipes I fell in love with as a kid and I still can’t get enough of it. All you need is two simple ingredients!

I first had this Marshmallow Fluff Dip when I was a teenager and while I think it’s from Shannon Mattson – one of the sweetest, sassiest and most affectionate people I know – I could be totally wrong. Either way, this simple fruit dip is pure heaven and I have three kids over here who lick their bowls clean so as not to miss a single piece.

And the very best? It’s only useful two ingredients. boo yah There’s literally nothing easier than buying two things from the store, slamming them together and serving them up with a fruit platter.

I’ve mentioned this a few times, but if you’re new to this blog, Fruit and I are best friends. I would actually take it over chocolate most of the time. Mostly. (I mean, who could ever turn down a hot, homemade chocolate chip cookie?).

Like I said, this is such an easy fruity dip recipe! For this strawberry dip you need:

  • Marshmallow Fluff – the stuff in a jar you can buy at the store, Jet Puffed makes one called marshmallow cream. I also heard you can buy strawberry flavored marshmallow creme so if you can find it go for it!!
  • Strawberry Cream Cheese – Philadelphia is my brand of choice, it’s a 7.5 ounce container

Seriously, that’s all it takes to make this incredible Cream Cheese Dip! You can find the exact measurements for each ingredient and instructions on how to prepare the dip in the recipe card at the end of the post.

How to make fruit dip

This Strawberry Marshmallow Dip is so easy to make, I think it takes less than 5 minutes to make! How to prepare fruit dip:

  1. Beat together the marshmallow fluff and cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Transfer to a serving bowl and serve with your choice of fruit.

Couldn’t be easier, could it?! My kind of appetizer! It would be so cute at a baby shower for a little baby girl! Or a bridal shower! It’s always a hit!

What to serve with fruit dip

This is one of those fruity dip recipes that works best with strawberries and bananas, but really, any fruit will work. Think: apples, pineapples or even peaches and pears. You can also serve this dip with pretzels, Nilla waffles, graham crackers and more!

Can I use a different flavor of cream cheese?

I don’t understand why not! Use any fruit flavored cream cheese you like. I’ve also seen cheesecake and cream cheese made with brown sugar, which would work well here as well.

Tips for preparing fruit dip

This dip recipe works best if you leave out the cream cheese soften lightly before mixing with the marshmallow fluff. Let it sit on the counter for 10 to 15 minutes, then mix it into the fruit dip.

When serving this fruit dip, you may find that your fruit browns quickly. Bananas and apples in particular will brown fairly quickly once air hits their flesh, but if you’re wondering how to keep apples and bananas from browning, you can just toss them with a little bit of it lemon juice.

With that being said, I’ll be perfectly honest with you, I don’t like doing this. Lemon juice adds a little squirt to the fruit, and as much as it pains me to say, I prefer to slice the fruit right before serving. Yes, that means we still have work to do before guests show up, but I’m ready to do it!
