The many ways to harness the power of free electrons to drastically and quickly reduce “silent” or painful systemic body inflammation.

Inflammation is arguably one of the most common, if not the most common, reason for the chronic disease epidemic today.
Therefore, keeping body tissues free of inflammation is of paramount importance and a key reason for following a healthy lifestyle and traditional diet in the first place.
The problem is that unless the person is in tune with the body, an under-the-radar inflammatory problem isn’t noticed until a health crisis occurs.
Perhaps the easiest way to ensure inflammation is kept to a minimum is to regularly utilize free electrons, which short out inflammation wherever it is present in the body.
There are a number of ways to harness the power of free electrons to reduce inflammation, which I’ll discuss below.
But first, let’s talk about why these free electrons are needed in the first place.
Why the body needs free electrons
The basic science behind the need for free electrons is that the earth’s surface contains a negative charge. This is in contrast to our body which tends to accumulate an excess of positive charges.
Too much positive charge in our bodies can trigger dysfunctional cell function, leading to increased oxidative stress from excess free radicals, also known as a cascade of inflammatory responses.
By harnessing free electrons, the body can pair these excess positive charges with a corresponding negative charge and instantly reverse the inflammatory effects.
It’s happening so fast scientists can’t even measure it!
Neutralization of excess positive charges
The easiest and quickest way to neutralize an excess of positive charge in the body is to walk barefoot on clean, unsprayed ground. This direct contact with the earth is called grounding or grounding.
Below is a thermographic photo of inflammation in a person’s body before and after grounding.
Notice how the warm/hot colors indicative of ignition are noticeably muted to cooler colors after a brief period of grounding.
In essence, harnessing the power of free electrons rapidly promotes a more favorable internal environment in the body. In addition to reduced inflammation, benefits include improved mood and energy levels, deeper, more restful sleep, and a reduction or elimination of pain.
As a personal experience I can say that a few months ago I had mysterious pain in my left foot. I had no injury and no problem such as plantar fasciitis was diagnosed.
I figured grounding might help, even though I’m grounded at home most of the day. So I started making the effort to walk barefoot outside for at least 10 minutes a day. Alternatively, while reading, I sat in a chair on the lawn and touched the ground with my bare feet.
Within a few days the pain decreased dramatically and within a few weeks it was completely gone and hasn’t come back (I’m still grounded).

The Science of Anti-Inflammation with Free Electrons
The science of how free electrons quickly neutralize inflammation is best covered in the documentary The Earthing Movie. You can watch it for free here, courtesy of the Solari Report. (1)
The fabulous explanation of the science behind free electrons reducing inflammation starts at 27:20, but I highly recommend watching the entire documentary from the start.
Many ways to use free electrons!
Walking on bare earth, also called “earths,” is perhaps the easiest and most accessible way to receive a massive infusion of free electrons to short-circuit the inflammatory response in the body.
However, there are a number of other ways to get free electrons with a negative charge to pair with and neutralize excess positive charges in the body.
All the methods I know of are listed below. My recommendation is to do as many of these as you can, and as often as you can!
Walking barefoot on the floor is the most basic and important way to use free electrons to reduce inflammation.
If you live in an area or climate where this is difficult, then at the very least invest in leather-soled shoes. This will ensure that you are at least grounded when walking around outside.
Shoes with rubber and synthetic soles are very unhealthy if we don’t take the time to ground ourselves as a crucial countermeasure.
Swimming in natural waters
Swimming in clean, natural bodies of water such as rivers, springs, lakes and the ocean is a fantastic way to ground and absorb free electrons into the body.
Swimming not only grounds your feet, but your whole body! Therefore, swimming in natural waters holds the potential for enhanced use of free electrons.
My favorite way to enjoy this is by swimming in the many natural cold springs here in Florida.
Note that swimming in chlorinated pools will not have the same effect as the chemicals in the pool are counterproductive to the process. This is also the case when the pool is in the ground.
grounding in your home
If your house is one story and is in direct contact with the base plate and there is no crawl space in between, you can actually run the soil inside your house.
However, only certain floor coverings are suitable for this. Unsealed concrete, stone, unglazed tile, and 100% wool carpet may be the best options. (2)
Sealed wood floors are not grounded even though it is a natural material.
If you don’t live on the ground floor or have a home with a basement or crawl space underneath, you can compensate by using grounding sheets at night while you sleep.
Note that the reduced ignition effect of grounding is less than grounding. In other words, just grounding doesn’t give you as many free electrons as you do if your bare feet touch the ground directly.
So grounding in your home is wonderful, but not a complete replacement for grounding.
Gardening without gloves
Gardening without gloves (or leather gloves) is what I call “reverse grounding.”
You get the free electrons through your bare hands instead of the soles of your feet.
If you absolutely have to wear gloves in the garden, beware of “microfiber leather” as it’s actually a form of faux leather!
Hug a tree
While “tree hugging” is a somewhat derogatory term in modern parlance, it actually provides each of us with an easy way to pick up lots of electrons from many parts of our bodies at once.
So if you are unable to swim in natural bodies of water or walk barefoot on the bottom, consider “forest bathing” instead.
Trees create a steady flow of voltage that can even be used to generate electricity. (3)
For parts of the body that will come into contact with the tree, make sure that the clothing is made of 100% natural materials such as cotton, wool or bamboo. Preferably touch the tree with as much bare skin as possible.
Touch and pet animals
Have you ever wondered why petting animals is so therapeutic?
Could it be that we are absorbing a lot of free electrons into our body through our hands, which short-circuits the inflammatory process?
If your pet is lying on the floor outside while you pet them, all the better! In this way, her body serves as an electrical conduit to yours and is an indirect route to “Earth”.
Hug other people
Much like hugging trees and petting animals, just hugging loved ones is a source of anti-inflammatory free electrons.
A hug on the beach while you’re both grounded would be the most effective time to cuddle, but even if you’re not grounded, you can still share free electrons between each other.
This is one of the reasons why massage and other hands-on therapies are so beneficial.
Especially when a person is sick, you can donate your free electrons to their body by hugging them or just holding their hands to literally help them get well!
I’ve written before about holding my children as babies and toddlers for as long as needed to give them comfort and absorb some of the heat with my body to cool them down. Remarkably, this could always help to alleviate childhood fever quite quickly.
I believe that the donation of free electrons from my body to hers was at least partly why this was so therapeutic.
Diploma
In summary, finding ways to harness the power of free electrons in our natural environment is vital to health.
Regularly grounding yourself by walking barefoot on the ground is perhaps the easiest and most effective way to do this. (4)
However, there are a number of other ways to absorb free electrons to eliminate excess positive charge in the body, as simple as petting animals and hugging loved ones.
So before you spend big bucks on alternative therapies or supplements that claim to reduce inflammation, try some of the free electron harvesting strategies above that cost nothing and are scientifically proven to be hugely effective.
